Lovely concept, and a lovely website you have built here Stephen, really enjoying all the content! One remark I'd like to make: Wouldn't it be more accurate to assume that if we give less credibility to a data source, this would lead us to adjust the predicted probabilities towards a "naive benchmark prior"? For example, the weather forecast on a website is 80% rain. If we trust the data source less (let's say we trust it to 50%), we wouldn't necessarily half the given forecast probability to 40%, but rather update it halfway towards a naive benchmark prior of in this case 50%, so a final probability of 65%? Otherwise, in clear binary cases (candidate A vs. candidate B in an election), the adjusted probabilities wouldn't add up to 100%. If an election site predicts the race to end up 80% vs. 20%, and we trust it to 50%, we wouldn't adjust this to 40% vs. 10%, but rather to 65% vs. 35%.

Hope the examples were clear enough, thank you again for the thought-provoking articles!
